USCIS H-2B Count for the Second Half of Fiscal Year 2009 - 11/28/08
On November 24, 2008, USCIS updated the count of H-2B petitions received and counted towards the H-2B cap on the USCIS website. As of November 21, 2008, 10,265 petitions have been counted towards the 33,000 cap for the second half of FY 2009. [ more ]

Steven N. Garmo to speak on the subject of EB-5 "Business Immigration" in Dubai - 11/17/08
On November 20, 2008, Internationally renown attorney Steven N. Garmo will be conducting various seminars in the Muskat, Oman and Dubai, UAE. The seminars will cover among other things the Eb-5 investment visa and other business immigration visa's. Attorney Garmo said that "The EB-5 Category is an excellent opportunity for many foreign nationals to become permanent residents of the United States quickly". The EB-5 Permanent Resident status involves making the investment, filing the appropriate petition with USCIS Service Center, and applying for an Immigrant Visa at a United States consulate or applying for Adjustment of Status in the United States. Mr. Garmo said " It is important to educate the Middle Eastern communities on US Employment Immigration Visa's in order to foster a better understanding of our laws and to encourage investment in the United States in light of the globalization of International commerce."
