Update on the new I-601 Waiver Pilot Program in Ciudad Juarez - 04/26/07
USCIS released an update on the new pilot program to provide same day adjudication of many I-601 Waivers of Excludability. The program was implemented this year by the USCIS Ciudad Juarez Office in conjunction with the Department of State. Please see the fact sheet below for details. [ more ]

USCIS Final Rule on Extension of Filing Time for Os and Ps - 04/20/07
USCIS published a final rule that amends DHS regulations to allow petitioners to file for O and P visas up to one year in advance. The rule is effective May 16, 2007. This rule will allow US petitioners to file the work visa petitions up to one year in advance. [ more ]
USCIS to Have Flexibility in Setting RFE and NOID Response Times - 04/20/07
The final rule allows USCIS "flexibility" in setting the length of time in which applicants must respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). The rule is effective June 18, 2007. The USCIS Fact Sheet on Flexible Response Times for RFEs and NOIDs is below. [ more ]

USCIS Announces H-1B Cap Reached - 04/03/07
The USCIS has announced that the H-1B cap for Fiscal Year 2008 was reached on the first day that filing was permitted, April 2, 2007. The announcement contains further information on the random selection lottery, on the U.S-earned Master’s degree exemption from the cap, and on processing of petitions. [ more ]
