Summary of REAL ID Act (H.R. 418) Provisions - 02/24/05
The following is a summary of REAL ID Act which has passed the House. The Act places restrictions on Asylum, provides for waiver of All Laws Related to Construction of Fences at Borders, Expansion of Grounds of Inadmissibility and Removal, Restrictions on Habeas Review and Elimination of Temporary Stays, Expansion of Bail Bondsmen Authority Over Noncitizens and Improved Security for Driver's Licenses and Personal Identification Cards. HHS Updates Poverty Guidelines for 2005 - 02/24/05
HHS has updated its poverty guidelines for 2005 to account for last year's increase in prices as measured by the Consumer Price Index. These data are used in determining ability to provide support in connection with the affidavit of support. The new guidelines took effect upon publication on 2/18/05. [ more ]

USCIS Applies V Visa Court Case Nationally - 02/07/05
